LTE-M (Long Term Evolution for Machines), also known as LTE-Cat-M1, is a subcategory of LTE.
With its low latency and high throughput, LTE-M enables regular updates of connected objects to deploy new functionalities and maintain security. This technology also facilitates the transmission of photos or voice and supports mobile use cases such as fleet management or asset tracking.
Although it is more power-intensive than NB-IoT technology under challenging transmission conditions, LTE-Cat-M1 enables battery-powered use cases.
